Andreas Wistuba Posted March 23, 2014 Report Share Posted March 23, 2014 Here is a picture of two flowers of Hydnophytum vaccinifolium. In my hands they never open and seem to be self incompatible. This seems to be a fairly useless strategy when producing cleistogamous flowers. Only cross pollination worked a single time in years of trying to pollinate and to cross pollinate this beautiful plant.
