Hydnophytum spec. - large leaves, Viti Levu, Fiji - highland

I am quite unsure what conclusions to draw out of the different Hydnophytums we found during our trip to Fiji. According to Smith all species known by then would be 3 - Hydnohytum grandiflorum, H. longiflorum and H. wilkinsonii.


Hydnophytum wilkinsonii is notable for it's fruit, so the specimens we found, both in the highlands and the lowlands would all belong to just two species: Hydnohytum grandiflorum and H. longiflorum.


 


IMHO, we saw more and I put some flowers in alcohol to dissect, but most likely lost this material, so I just want to present some pictures of specimens from different localities.


 


This specimen grows in the highlands of Viti Levu. It has comparably large leaves, ca 8 cm in length and bigger than anything else we've seen on Fiji. Caudex is smooth:
