Andreas Wistuba
These pictures showing Myrmecodia lamii are from our expedition to the summit of Doormanstop that we undertook in the year 2000. I find the plants here more bizarre than the ones from Lake Habbema, which are more fleshy and stout. Most plants on Doormanstop are nearly black, while plants near Lake Habbema often are brownish. BTW, am I the only one who finds these remindful to Giger's alien creatures? The alien on the last picture - that's me
Stone Jaguar
Beautiful and evocative photos, Andreas. I never get tired of looking at your online images of M. lamii. Perhaps more than any other tropical caudiciform barring Adenium socotranum, they attract an extraordinary amount of admiring commentary by general exotic plant enthusiasts in online fora that I visit.
