ant nest  in my old H.sp siquijor

like you see , unfortunately  also mealybugs in shells, in fact the flock of these ants.

Hydnophytum   from siquijor island in phillipinas  may be a H.phillipinense.

Hi Jeff,

honestly, I would try to get rid of Mealybugs at almost all cost, even if it means killing the ants.

That's there reason, BTW, I never made any attempt to grow ant plants with ants. I need to keep my collection and sales plants clean and if I see any pest somewhere, it's treated.

Mealy bugs belong to the most serious insect pests. They can weaken plants to death and are capable virus vectors.

yes I am OK with you .

 

but I cultivate my ant plant in 2 terra  and it is more easier to dispose of these mealybugs, manually or with malathion + paraffin oil
