Andreas Wistuba
I have the type description here. As it is very old, I doubt that it's still under copyright law after 100 years, here is it:
jeff
I have this document , but on the new revision from HUXLEY &JEBB I do not see this specie. jeff
Andreas Wistuba
I have this document , but on the new revision from HUXLEY &JEBB I do not see this specie. jeff IMHO, that's a major issue. They seem to "ignore" everything that's not from Papua lumping most of these species into M. tuberosa...
Frank
Huxley and Jebb did address Myrmecodia urdenatensis in their revision of the genus Myrmecodia. They inserted it into their Myrmecodia tuberosa 'apoensis' without any real discussion of the matter. Look at the "Collections - Philippines" section in the middle of their page 280. Someone could probably do a great Ph. D. thesis reworking the Philippine Myrmecodias as it seems all Huxley and Jebb did was lump the lowland Phipippine Myrmecodias into M. tuberosa 'sibuyanensis' and the high altitude plants into M. tuberosa 'apoensis'. jeff
oh yes , in the document from ANDREAS you see " not a M.apoensis because of its much smaller leaves with slenderer petioles" but this difference is may be too minimal ? on an other document ( 1923) I see from phillipines 4 myrmecodia -M.apoensis -M.echinata -M.sibuyanensis -M.urdanetensis in hydnophytum 9 species -H.formicarum -H.intermedium -H.leytense -H.membranaceum -H.mindanaense -H.mindorense -H.nitidum -H.orbiculatum -H.philippinense in myrmephytum M.beccarii now in this last genus we add M.selebicum and may be an other from mindoro . jeff

Derrick
And of course, the description above is in English thus was (and still is) illegitimate; indeed, ALL of Elmer's many descriptions seen by me are without a Latin description.
